A fantastic weekend at Christmas in the City!

Saturday 26th November saw Brechin officially switch on their lights and herald the start of the festive season locally.

Brechin City Hall was right at the heart of all the activity going on throughout the day and lets be honest, there was lots and lots going on all day!

The High Street hosted a number of stalls and stands as well as a stage that saw a DJ and other acts perform throughout the day. The Town House museum was where Santa and Mrs Claus spent most of the day in their grotto meeting lots of children who all claimed to have been really good throughout the year – time will tell.

And of course what was really fantastic was seeing our own City Hall so busy with visitors throughout the day. People took advantage of a huge number of different stalls and did a bit of Christmas shopping as well as being entertained with different local artists all performing on the stage. In addition visitors could rest their weary feet in the City Hall and enjoy some welcome hot refreshments.

Local shops and eateries also supported the event in Brechin.

It was an absolutely super day and our thanks and congratulations go to the entire team of volunteers who worked so hard to make it such a great day. Looking forward to next year’s event already!
