Let there be Christmas Lights this year in Brechin

Our friends and fellow volunteers at BRAVO are busy planning for Brechin’s Christmas Lights this year.

As you may or may not be aware, Angus Council are no longer erecting the Christmas lights within any of the Angus burghs. Brechin’s lights have therefore been tasked to BRAVO who currently store and maintain the lights as well as the Brechin Christmas Lights Fund which pays for them.

This is the first year that BRAVO will have sole responsibility for this and they are now looking for volunteers to help with this mammoth task.

The date selected is Sunday 26th November and BRAVO is looking for volunteers to meet at approximately 7.00am to ensure there is enough time to put up all the lights in 1 day. They have decided to split the street up into 3 or 4 sections to make the most of the time and volunteers they have available.

We know it’s only October but BRAVO need to have reliable numbers of volunteers soon in order for them to maximise the planning of the morning. All of those who are willing to help will be invited along to a planning meeting prior to the 26th so everything goes smoothly on the day.

Please help us spread the word and let’s help BRAVO get as many volunteers as possible for that Sunday in November. We all enjoy the Christmas lights in our city so let’s work together to make them shine even brighter this year.

To register your interest and to find out more information you can email BRAVO on bravobrechin@aol.com
