Community Groups, Children and Young People – we’d like to hear from you!

A local group came together in March of this year when the long term future of the hall was under threat and Angus Council had taken the decision to close the facility due to funding pressures.

We’re delighted to inform the people of Brechin that since then and due to huge support from the wider Brechin public, we’ve worked to create a community led group to take on the running of the hall.

We’re in the process of gaining charitable status with OSCR and have constituted a two tier management structure comprising of an executive committee and forum representing a wide range of current user groups.

We’ve also established a new hire fee structure which aims to meet the needs of local users whilst also aiming to raise funds to invest in the future of this much loved community asset.

As part of our commitment to ensure that the City Hall is an accessible and valued city centre venue, we’re keen to talk with groups who may, at some point, wish to use the facility in the future, around what their needs could be.

We’re also really keen to create a City Hall Youth Forum to hear the voice of children and young people in Brechin about what they’d like to see happen in the future and we’d welcome all views on this.

If you’re involved in a local community group we’d love to hear from you, meet you, hear all about your needs and give you a tour of the hall.  We’d also like to hear from young people and children who would be interested to be part of a Youth Forum.

The easiest way to contact us is by email on mail@brechincityhall.org

The future of our City Hall looks bright and we’d like everyone in Brechin to play their part!
